Hootsuite Earns B Corporation Certification

World’s largest social relationship platform commits to rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.

VANCOUVER, BC – June 2, 2015 - Hootsuite, the world’s most widely used social relationship platform, today announced that it has officially become a Certified B Corporation, a new kind of company that uses the power of business to address society’s greatest challenges. Hootsuite joins the rapidly growing movement of more than 1,300 Certified B Corporations from 121 industries, across 40 countries including companies like Etsy, Warby Parker, and Ben & Jerry’s.

“We’ve always believed that working at Hootsuite is about building something bigger than ourselves,” said Hootsuite CEO Ryan Holmes. “We strive to meet higher standards. Through addressing positive change for our communities, the environment and our employees, we believe we can create a better place to work and live. We are truly honored to join this global movement.”

Certified B Corporations believe it’s time to expand how success is measured in the business world. For-profit businesses should be a force for good and collectively strive for "shared and durable prosperity.” B Corps voluntarily meet high standards for social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. As a B Corp, Hootsuite will measure and manage the impact of its business on its workers, community and the environment with as much rigor as it manages and monitors its profits.

“We’re thrilled to have a leader like Hootsuite join the ranks of Certified B Corporations,” said Jay Coen Gilbert, co-founder of B Lab, the nonprofit that certifies B Corps. “Hootsuite has been actively working towards these types of programs since the company was first started. This recognition marks its continued investment in volunteerism, buying local, workplace diversity and a commitment to reducing its environmental footprint.”
