Hootsuite’s social post approval tool is easy to use. All you have to do is set content creators and approvers within your Hootsuite settings. Then, the next time a content creator finishes a draft, your designated approvers will receive an email and/or notification telling them a post requires their approval.
To use Hootsuite’s approval workflow tools, an Admin or Super Admin must assign users specific roles. Admins can set user permissions to either require approval (content creators) or provide approvals (editors). You can even set up permissions so that certain users only require approval for certain types of content, including social media posts, messages, and comments.
Once you’ve determined your permissions and editors, you can create your custom approval workflow. Hootsuite lets you set your approvers in a specific order. Set your first, second, or third approver. Setting multiple approvers allows you to get more eyes on every post and ensures that you have a backup if a primary approver is unavailable.
You can also ask any team member with access to the social account to approve your post before publishing — they don't need special permissions for one-off approvals. As you’re creating content, select the “Ask for approval” option and choose the teammate you’d like to ask to review.
