Search streams allow you to track and monitor social activity around certain keywords, phrases and even specific users or locations.
To create a search stream, first make sure you’re in the streams window.
Next, click on the tab where you’d like the stream to go now you can either click on the “Add a stream” button in the top left or you can click on the green “Plus” box located at the bottom right of your dashboard.
In the add Stream pop-up window choose your desired social account from the picker.
You can create search streams for Twitter, Facebook Pages, Google Plus Pages and Instagram.
For example, you could create a Twitter search stream for Vacation Holiday Getaway, to show results from anyone mentioning any of those words in their tweets.
To show results for that exact phrase just place quotations around the text.
You could also create a search stream for the hashtag “holiday” and immediately see all of the recent posts that have used that tag.
Additionally, by clicking the arrow button next to the search bar you can limit your search results to your own geographic area.
To see even more ways of how to modify your search queries click the “show examples” button u nder the Twitter stream selector.
Once you’ve decided on your search term click “add stream” and your new search stream will be added to your dashboard.
