We are excited to announce that you can now use Amplify to find—and share—breaking news, interesting articles, and other engaging content with your network from one simple app. With news hand-picked and approved for you, Amplify makes it easy to share valuable content that your network will love.

How to download Amplify

  1. Open the “Welcome to Amplify” email from Hootsuite. Click “Set your password” and follow the prompts.
  2. If you’re on a/an: 
    • iOS device, you will be directed to the Apple App Store, click Get > Install.
    • Android device, you will be directed to the Google Play Store, click Install.
    • Desktop: you will be directed to a page where you can input your mobile number. Depending on your device, this will send you an SMS with either the link to Amplify in the Google Play or Apple App Store. Click Get/Install.
  3. Open Amplify and login with your email address and new password, then follow the prompts to get started.

I can’t login to Amplify because of 2-factor authentication. How do I fix this?

If 2-factor authentication is turned on, you can't log into the app currently. Go to the dashboard to turn it off. Go to your Settings > Account > Security > Revoke access.

How can I add multiple social networks?

The Amplify app is meant to be a simplified social media management experience. As such, it only supports one social account per social network. You will be prompted to authenticate each social account the first time you try and publish to them. You can remove accounts in settings. If you have multiple social accounts already authenticated in Hootsuite, an Account Selection menu item will appear during onboarding and in Settings to let you select which accounts to publish to.

How do I connect my Hootsuite app to Amplify?

 When you go to share an article, Hootsuite will appear as a network to share from. Click on the Hootsuite icon, login for authentication if required and you’re connected!

Will Amplify users also have access to Amplify on their Hootsuite desktop dashboard?

If you are an employee you will only have access to the iOS and/or Android mobile app. If you are a content champion or admin and will be curating content, you will be provided special access to Amplify on the Hootsuite desktop dashboard. If you have any questions about content on Amplify, please reach out to the respective content champion listed below under “Sharing”.


I forgot my password. How do I reset a new password?

In the login screen, tap “Forgot Password”. Enter your email address and click “Send Email”. You will receive an email to reset your password, follow the steps outlined in the email.

How do I find more people to follow or invite to join Amplify?

Click on the magnifying glass on the top left corner within the app. You can search by name to invite/follow a colleague or you can invite/follow colleagues Amplify lists for you.

How do I turn off/on my push notifications?

Go to your profile and click on “Settings” on the top right. Under “Notifications” you can enable/disable New Followers and/or Articles.

How do I change my account selection for sharing?

If you have multiple accounts for each network, you can ensure your default account has been selected under “Account Selection”. Tap on the network handle you would like to change,  scroll up/down to select the desired handle. Complete the process by tapping “Done”, then “Update”.

When I share an article, I can’t edit the text descriptor. Why is this?

Amplify represents a simplified & streamlined social media management experience. If you would like to edit or schedule your posts, install the Hootsuite App on your phone and tap the Hootsuite icon when trying to publish, and you will have all the power of Hootsuite Mobile at your fingertips.

How do I know if my article has been shared?

When you are in the sharing pop-up, you can select to share out to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Hootsuite. By tapping on one of these networks you will share out to it, indicated by the logo changing into a checkmark.

I have an interesting story I want to share on Amplify. Who do I send this to for submission?

Will Instagram be added soon?

Instagram is available in the Hootsuite App but not yet in Amplify. It is unlikely to be added soon.
