Hootsuite Ambassador Program Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) govern your participation in Hootsuite Media Inc.’s (“Hootsuite”) Ambassador Program (the “Program”). By enrolling in the Program, you are accepting and agreeing to be bound by these Terms to the exclusion of all other prior communication, agreements and understandings between you and Hootsuite. If you do not unconditionally accept these Terms in their entirety, you shall not (and shall have no right to) participate in the Program.
Hootsuite may update and change any or all of these Terms from time to time in its sole discretion. If Hootsuite does so, it will inform you of such modified Terms by email to the email address you provided upon enrolment or as updated by you. It is your sole responsibility to ensure Hootsuite has your current email address. Your continued participation in the Program after any such changes have been made shall constitute your consent to such changes.
1. Role description
Your role as a Hootsuite Ambassador is to act as a brand advocate to help build and grow Hootsuite’s global community by connecting with potential users and empowering existing users.
You will be onboarded by a Hootsuite Advocacy team member in your region who will prepare you to assume your role as an Ambassador.
1.2. Title and Role
Your role as a Hootsuite Ambassador is a voluntary position and shall in no way constitute employment by Hootsuite or authority to represent Hootsuite or speak on Hootsuite’s behalf. You may, however, disclose your involvement as a Hootsuite Ambassador publicly both online and offline. We suggest adding the title “Hootsuite Ambassador” to both your Twitter bio and LinkedIn profile so that people can connect with you.
If you do endorse our services or publish any other content as an Ambassador, you should ensure that your role as Hootsuite Ambassador is clearly disclosed.
2. Hootsuite Code of Conduct
As a Hootsuite Ambassador, you agree to support Hootsuite’s online and offline communities globally in order to drive engagement in existing and emerging markets. A Hootsuite Ambassador will also support the growth of Hootsuite advocacy by building life-long fans.
2.1. Adoption of Values
By accepting the role of Ambassador, you indicate agreement with Hootsuite Core Values and what the Ambassador must and must not partake in, as specified below.

Every Hootsuite owl around the globe, from Ambassadors to employees, exemplify our corporate values. This is what defines Hootsuite as a company, a community and what drives our success. As an Ambassador, you must exude our four core values:
- Lead with humility
- Grit in all we do
- Build a better way
- Passion for our customer success
The Ambassador Must:
- Actively use the Hootsuite dashboard on a minimum bi-weekly basis
- Share correct and truthful knowledge about Hootsuite products and services without false representation
- Maintain honesty and abide by guidelines in all actions online, offline and within the Ambassador Forum
- Advocate on Hootsuite's behalf
- Display positive sentiment on public and private forums about Hootsuite tools, services, employees or culture
- Provide honest information to Hootsuite representatives about their Ambassadorship, Ambassador Forum activity and all aspects of the Hootsuite Ambassador program
The Ambassador Must Not:
- Comment negatively on public and private forums about Hootsuite tools, services, employees or culture both online and offline.
- Provide false information regarding their ambassadorship, Ambassador rewards or challenges to any representative of Hootsuite
3. Participattion in Specific Projects
From time to time, you may have the opportunity to participate in one or more specific projects, including beta testing, translations, community forum participation and social media coaching. You agree that your participation will be voluntary and without compensation and may be subject to additional terms and conditions.
From time to time, we may disclose to you confidential information regarding our business, customers, products or services (“Confidential Information”). You agree that such Confidential Information is and will remain the property of Hootsuite. You will not disclose Confidential Information without our express consent, and will not use any Confidential Information for any purpose other than pursuant to your activities as Ambassador for and on behalf of Hootsuite.
Your name, role and Twitter information may and can be publicised online. This allows for collaboration across regions and for Ambassadors, Hootsuite fans, and Hootsuite employees to connect with you in your capacity as a Hootsuite Ambassador.
6. Conflict of Interest
If you are employed or work directly with a competitor of Hootsuite, you must immediately resign from the Program. If you are a Hootsuite partner/reseller as well as a reseller of competing services, you must include this information in your application and onboarding process for further approval.
8. Removal/Modification of Content
If requested by Hootsuite in order to comply with applicable government regulations, you agree to remove or modify content that you publish as part of your activities as an Ambassador.
9. Email Communication
All communication from Hootsuite to you regarding your position as an Ambassador will be via email. The email address used to contact you will be the address you provided to Hootsuite in your Program application. In the event that your email address changes, you must advise your regional Community Manager so that it can be updated. Following any updates, Hootsuite will use the updated email address for all its communications to you. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that you provide this updated email address to your regional Community Manager upon any changes.
Further, by enrolling in the Program, you consent to receive any and all email messages Hootsuite sends to you in your capacity as an Ambassador. All email messages will be taken to be received by you within 2 business days of Hootsuite having sent the email message to the most recently provided email address by you.
As a Hootsuite Ambassador you agree not to disparage Hootsuite Media Inc. in any statement, written or oral, to any person or organization, whether in an online or offline setting. For purposes of this provision, “disparage” shall mean making any negative statement, including without limitation any statement that impugns the character, honesty, integrity, morality or business acumen or abilities of Hootsuite Media Inc. or any of its subsidiaries and affiliates, successors and assigns, officers, directors, employees, servants and agents. You acknowledge and agree that due to the importance Hootsuite Media Inc. places on its brand’s reputation, the promotion of which is the very purpose of the Program, this non-disparagement provision is a material term of this Agreement.
Hootsuite Media Inc reserves the right to take any legal action available to it in order to defend its brand’s reputation and recover any damages which it has sustained as a result of any defamatory or disparaging statements made by you either during or after your participation in the Program.
12. Termination of Ambassador Role
9.1 Termination by Hootsuite
At any point, for any reason and without advanced notice, Hootsuite may choose to terminate your role as an Ambassador with immediate effect by providing you with notice via email. Without limiting the foregoing, any breach of these Terms by you will result in immediate termination of your standing as a Hootsuite Ambassador.
9.2. Termination by Ambassador
If at any point after your 3 month commitment you would like to terminate your role as Ambassador, we ask that you notify your regional Community Manager as soon as possible via firstname.lastname@example.org. Your termination will be effective once you have received confirmation from a representative of Hootsuite.
9.3 Effects of termination
Upon termination of these Terms and your role as Ambassador by Hootsuite or you, the title of Ambassador shall be immediately revoked and you must immediately stop using the title of Ambassador or present yourself as being affiliated with Hootsuite and its properties in any way other than as a user of Hootsuite services. In addition, you must remove and cease to use all trade names, trademarks, service marks, logos, domain names, and other distinctive brand features of Hootsuite on your online or offline profiles and materials as soon as reasonably practicable. Finally, you will not make or post any negative or otherwise disparaging comments or communications in any form about Hootsuite, its directors, officers, employees, representatives or affiliates. Your obligations of confidentiality will survive the termination of your participation in the Program.
